Types of massage offered:
Deep Tissue/Myofascial Release– A much more focused massage. It targets multiple layers of muscle, ligaments, tendons and fascia. With the goal of releasing deep holding patterns in the muscle, fascia, and cleaning out muscle fiber (getting rid of knots). To do this I use slow deep strokes and less oil. This results in greater friction and an ability to separate multiple layers of soft tissue. The result… increased flexibility and a feeling of rejuvenation.
Sports Massage – Sports massage can be light or deep depending on the your needs. For example, if you just finished a marathon you would benefit from a light to medium massage to help flush out the muscle and avoid a lot of the soreness. Caused by the settling of lactic acid in the muscles. This massage might be accompanied by a light stretch and will increase your recovery time.
In contrast, a golfer who is extremely tight from over doing it might benefit from lengthening of key muscles. This would in turn allow him/her to complete the full range of motion necessary for a great swing. This massage would typically be deeper, more focused and would also likely include some deeper stretches. So, sports massage, is personalized to your specific needs.
Swedish Massage – This is the most common form of massage and is likely what you are familiar with. Swedish massage focuses on relaxation and an unwinding from the tensions of daily life. This is achieved through the application of long flowing strokes using either oil or massage cream. The result is a sense of relaxation and overall well – being … a general release of tension.
Back to Back Massage – This can be any type of massage. It provides an opportunity for multiple massages of family members, or friends during one visit. This is very popular with couples and families.
